The Complete Indian News Collection, 1954-1982 @ University of Winnipeg During the years of 1954 to 1982 the Department of Indian Affairs issued a publication called the Indian News that was intended for distribution amongst Canada's First Nations people. Originating as a quarterly publication and eventually becoming a monthly one, the Indian News covered an array of topics and issues related to Canada's First Nations people and their communities.
FirstVoices We are an online space for Indigenous communities to share and promote language, oral culture and linguistic history. Language teams work with elders to curate and upload audio recordings, dictionaries, songs and stories. This content is shared with community members or the broader public.

First Nations Education Steering Committee: Indian Residential Schools and Reconciliation Resources The Indian Residential Schools and Reconciliation Teacher Resource Guides for grades 5, 10 and 11/12 were developed by the First Nations Education Steering Committee and the First Nations Schools Association. They are our response to the call by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada for education bodies to develop age-appropriate educational materials about Indian residential schools.
Native-Land: Teacher's Guide This is a digital map of Indigenous territories, Nations, languages, and communities across North America and other parts of the world. It can be used for learning about the territory your home or business is situated on, finding information for a land acknowledgement, and learning about the treaties and agreements signed across Canada. "This map does not represent or intend to represent official or legal boundaries of any Indigenous nations. To learn about definitive boundaries, contact the nations in question. This is not an academic or professional survey of Indigenous territories, and the maps are constantly being refined from user input. These are meant more for the sake of helping people get interested and engaged."

Orange Shirt Day: Teacher Resources Orange Shirt Day is a legacy of the St. Joseph Mission (SJM) Residential School (1891-1981) Commemoration Project and Reunion events that took place in Williams Lake, BC, Canada, in May 2013. This project was the vision of Esketemc (Alkali Lake) Chief Fred Robbins, who is a former student himself. It brought together former students and their families from the Secwepemc, Tsilhqot’in, Southern Dakelh and St’at’imc Nations along with the Cariboo Regional District, the Mayors and municipalities, School Districts and civic organizations in the Cariboo Region.
